I have no clue and I have not heard anything from MP3.com either - it kinda sucks as we where just about to pass 9,500,000 downloads....

    Hopefully they'll correct this soon.

    :o

Dave, I was about to ask the same question. There is no question that T[]C was on pace to hit 10 million by the end of October. If I'm not mistaken, they'll be the first, since there is no question that T[]C is the most popular group at MP3.com.

Let's hope that MP3.com resolves the problem by Halloween.

Could be, considering that they would have been the first to surpass 10 million. Right now, it says 7,214,828. It should be at least 9,600,000. If MP3.com doesn't fix it, and they pass 7,600,000, then we'll know that they passed 10 million.

Just how is it that a malfunction could cost T[]C 2.4 million hits? I've checked out a few other artists at MP3.com, and it doesn't look to me as if any one of them lost any hits in their tally.

They had a crash and a lot of the artistpages on their site went offline, it's after this that we lost the 2 or so million plays on our stats...

As for the tech part of how this happend: This is not relevant...

I just checked out the Cynic Project, Bassic, 303infinity and Astral Projection, all of whom had over 4.5 million hits (Cynic Project, Bassic and 303infinity all had over 6 million). They all lost hits on their tally. 303infinity lost more than 4,500,000 from their count, because when last I checked (back in August), they were well over 6 million. Now they're showing only 1.8 million.

I wonder if T[]C has been keeping a daily record of the total plays on their Web page. Maybe they can tell us how many hits they really have. I know it's over 9.6 million.

Well, we do have a crap load of downloads that's for sure - and the ones we lost from our stasts are probably more then most artists on MP3.com ever had...

Still, I just want what's fair - and also, we where about to break the 10,000,000 boundry...

Hey man, you'll hit the 10,000,000 mark quickly... I know people that would download your music in a heartbeat. Here's to the 10,000,000 goal!

    Greetz,

    MiGhTy-MaX

They're closing in on 9.7 million. Just add 2.4 million to the running total. Obviously MP3.com hasn't fixed the problem yet. So, when T[]C reaches 7.5-7.6 million (according to MP3.com's tainted tally on their Web page), they've passed 10 million. I'd say they'll hit 10 million by the end of November.

That really sucks about mp3.com. They used to be so good. Now that they are alowing bigname artists to put music up, it doesn't really leave much room to the other lesser known artists.

our page @ MP3.com is now back to normal showing a bit more then 9,600,000 downloads! So the race for 10,000,000 makes us about 400
    000 downloads short....

Glad to see they got the pagestats back in order :)

    Best,

    Alex

Thats great news Alle. I know you will break 10,000,000 in no time.

Will you guys be the first mp3.com group to have 10,000,000 downloads once you get there?

Pretty awesome! :D I think it'd be cool if mp3.com somehow acknowledged that on their front page once you pass 10,000,000.
