    SEPTEMBER242003:

MISSION 2002 Release #19: LOBOTOMIZED UNICORN

    STYLE: Hard/twisted/melodic trance
    DURATION: 07:25
    PRODUCED BY: DjC
    STATUS: ONLINE - http://www.mp3.com/tc

The twisted part of trance[]control (DjC) just got a new track out! This time it's hard, it's twisted and it's melodic... Wierd mixture with a crazy distorted acidline ensure a great trip for the 303-oholics out there. A track perhaps not for anyone to listen to but you might want to give it a go anyways.

Major credits to all of you who donated your hard earned money so that we where able to buy a new computer and get started with the studio once more... We dedicate this track to you guys!

    Enjoy!

This track is banging. i posted a review on the old boards i think .. but anyways i really like the 303 bass line. (Curious how you recreated it with your 303 stolen ?) But i totally sat ther and listened to this track on repeat , it looped and i didnt even realize it the first time. Sound choices are really good, and i like its progression. Also it had that old style taste we all fell in love with your music with. maybe it was the 303 but something was there in that song that really reminded me of your older stuff. anyways banging track 5 out of 5 keep up the good work. :D

    Peace David

OK alle... If LOBOTOMIZED UNICORN is #18 then what number is PROGRESSION??? At the site you have LOBOTOMIZED UNICORN listed as #19! You also have IMPORTED NIGHTMARE listed as #19 when it should be #20 (?). Or is LOBOTOMIZED UNICORN #20? Come on alle, get things straight, will ya! It's enough to drive a poor old man senile!

PS. Both new songs are number one winners in my book! ;)

    Hey!

Pretty nice progression and cool 303´s. The melody is ok. The only thing that bothers me is the offbeat bassline. That´s so old... Try to make some swinging bass patterns that really helps a song stand out from the rest!

Lobotomized Unicorn is one of the best tracks from t[]c. It has got a wicked beat! Nice 303 line! I like how the progression of the song gets better and better!! :D BTW, I love your Avatar Alle! It cracks me up everytime.

    Crap! Just noticed...

    PROGRESSION = M2002 #18
    Lobotomized Unicorn = M2002 #19
Imported Nightmare (Chu-Chu Mix) = M2002 #20 (Thisone kinda sliped out... Will ad a post about this one soon.)

    Best,

    Alex

I listened to this at a high volume for the first time today and I really like this!

The 303 is awesome... so good that I even thought it was a real 303!

But I have to agree with Tim, the bassline is kind of " :sleepy: "

I LOVE THIS TRACK! t[]c's hard music is awesome! In that respect, it reminded me of Scream. I love when I'm listening to your songs for the first time and can't wait for what comes up next (which was the case with LOBOTOMIZED UNICORN). There's nothing else really to say, except that it ROCKS! Haha, awesome job! 4.8 Stars ( :) ), but I'll just give it 5.

Thanks alle... It's nice to know that I'm not as senile as I thought I was... Eh, what was the question?
  10. DjDaed25 Sept 2003, 10:26
This is one of my new favs. Keep up the good work. I love the grainy distorted TB303.

Because it started in 2002 and never got finished. I think they just want to show that they can complete their work. ;)

superb... beats are well defined, progression is nice and melody is nice... but still doesnt win over touch the lights (weird taste u may say). and wat is a 303? sorry i still very new to trance.
  15. DJ Bluey18 Oct 2003, 18:54
Ha! I'm not new to trance, and even I'm not 100% what it is. :D But from what I've inferred, I'm 95% sure it's the "wahwah wah wahwah" sound ( :wassat: ) that starts at 3:42 in Imported Nightmare, and that really starts to build up at 1:51 in Lobotomized Unicorn. It's in lots of t[]c songs. Ha, maybe someone who actually knows what it is could give you a better explanation...

Well 303 is short for tb-303 which was a bassline step sequencer made by roland years back. It was used in lots of trance music, with diffrent distortions to make it a little bit more lively. it is diffacult to describe but usually its a grainy type of sound , and usually provides a sort of rythem to the song. maybe if im bored ill make an example and post it for you. kind of hard to explain

    David

Hi, wich softsynth do you take for the 303? Sound good but can't find this beautiful sound.
  18. David McGowan21 Oct 2003, 00:44
It can be created with many diffrent synths, and i think there is actually a few standalone VST'i's that do 303 , but i dont know them the ones i know is rebirth by propellerheads, i pursonally make my 303's using a subtractor in reason.

    David

We're using Tau 2 by MOUN SOFTWARE - to this date the best I've seen and heard.

    //Alex
  20. DjDaed21 Oct 2003, 02:53
I hear you Alle, that is one of the best, no, wait, the best tb303 clone out there. I bought it a month ago and it helps out so much. Its a lot cheaper than trying to find an actually tb303.
  21. Alle21 Oct 2003, 03:05
Yeah - if you tweak it enough it'll fool anyone to beleive it's the real thing ;)
  22. Guest24 Oct 2003, 16:43
I have tau pro to. Do you use it for bassline to in this song?
  23. Alle24 Oct 2003, 23:54
    Yes that's correct... :)
  24. TranceSynthVania25 Oct 2003, 12:09
hmm, is this softsynth something I should look into you think ? I use freebee now, it has an amazing sound, but it's hard to program and buggy...
  25. Guest26 Oct 2003, 03:05
    TB303 makes me orgasm :music:
  26. DjDaed26 Oct 2003, 06:03
I wouldn't go that far Guest, they are good, but not orgasmic.
  27. keebdaelf3 Nov 2003, 04:10
This song is awesome, Ive been listening to Trance Control for quite a while now, and its hard to find trance better than theirs. Cool beat and never really gets boring, keep it up guys.

  29. Korvus9 Nov 2003, 21:18
    Hi!

I've been listening all your tracks along 6-7 months aproximately (when I discovered you at mp3.com) and I have to say sincerely that, with every track you present, I'm more convinced about your genius. You're great :)

I think "progression" is simply the best track i've ever listened, it has all "ingredients" to be that: good intro, good rythm, and great end, with nice trance[]control's style. "progression", "emotion 2002", "bring out the dead", "out there", "intelligent 2002" .... all these and more are on my favourite trance songs list.

I'll be waitting for a new track :P
    thx for your music

    salu2 Korvus :)

    ::drooooooooolllsss::

    :cheesburger:

I played this in my car stereo, in front of my school, and it was awesome. I really enjoy putting out 2x250W amps into 2 Rockford Fosegate 10"s, oh it was wonderful.
