David McGowan1 Oct 2003, 01:07 Hi all,
Had a silly thought today...
If there was no internet do you think you would
1. Be interested in trance music..
2. (if your a producer) would you be producing music, without the internet.
and finnaly if you said yes to number 2 do you think your music would be as good? or possibly better ?
Look forward to hearing your thoughts. :D
DavidDjDaed1 Oct 2003, 01:25 I would still be interested in Trance music, as for producing, I would, but it wouldn't be as good, cuz I use lots of gear that i find on the net.TranceSynthVania1 Oct 2003, 01:51 I would definetly be interested in trance and I would still produce, but I think I would produce more rock music actually.David McGowan1 Oct 2003, 02:05 Interesting.. rock music... :)
I was just thinking how important the internet has become to electronic music.
vocal samples, drum loops.. the lists goes on and on, and yes you can by them on CD, but what a pain in the da butt.
DavidTranceSynthVania1 Oct 2003, 02:39 It's kind'a ironic tho, when you read about how P2P programs is ruining the dance-industry :PTrancefuzion1 Oct 2003, 03:53 Yeah I'd still be producing but my music would be crap. Besides I wouldn't know you guys!Tim1 Oct 2003, 08:14 1. Yeah i still would be interested in Trance coz a lot of Trance-tracks are released here every week. But i would listen more to mainstream trance.
2. Yeah i would definately produce music, before i had internet at all i already played with some programs. But it would take me much longer to learn things, find gear/software and stuff.
Internet really is good for starting AND intermediate producers!
TimBALLISTIC SOLUTION1 Oct 2003, 08:38 1. i'd not really be into trance, because of the few trance songs i heard before i got on the net ( & found t[]c which led me to di.fm, albeit 3 years later) because i only heard one style.
2. i wouldn't produce if i hadn't found the korg trinity at the music store in tx, but w/o the net, i wouldn't have gotten feedback on my trinity songs. so now with the korg triton & being turned-on to trance, & meeting you wonderful people for tips & tricks to producing trance...i think i'd still be yelling through 4 distortion pedals & playing the hard, evil stuff :madgo:
here's the answer to a question not asked...
i'd think that all musicians outside of punk & oi who have "made it" are pucking plicks (as koreans would put it...trust me, i've been called that ^_^ ) who only think of their fans as $ signs & not give a damn one way or the other what their fans thought. the net has shown me that there are people like t[]c who DO care & are completely willing to have a beer with you after the show...THANK YOU T[]C! & THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU ON THIS BOARD!
you buy the plane tickets & the t[]c forum bbq is on me! :cheesburger: [image]Trancefuzion1 Oct 2003, 08:50 BALLISTIC SOLUTION wrote: you buy the plane tickets & the t[]c forum bbq is on me! :cheesburger:

ROTFL!ephex9 Oct 2003, 20:45 Without the internet, I wouldn't even know trance exists ! Right now I would be listening to the radio getting popshit shoved down my throat and hate every minute of it. I've always had a strong passion for music but never really realized it until I found trance [on accident no less].
But honestly things don't end there, I don't even know what my life would be like without the internet. It's soo usefull for everything really.BALLISTIC SOLUTION14 Oct 2003, 02:40 off topic, what if there was no internet?, david mcgowan
