In memory of SAL

Lithius26 Feb 2004, 01:31 So I was working on a couple really great tracks all at once before the power supply on SAL, my overclocker, gave up on itself and sent line voltage into my motherboard ... :cwy: ... So I'm off the electronica scene until I can find about $300 to fix this mess. But here's some unreleased material I uploaded to my server before it all happened, I think you'll all really like this one!

This one solely features the NI Absynth 2.0, the Prosoniq Orange Vocoder, and the AKAI DCVocoder. It starts out very mild and chill, introduces you to what's going on, then surprises you with a swarm of "everything-happening-here-and-there" at 1:07. Then at 1:52, you'll hear my impression of Kraftwerk hihats! All throughout the song, you'll hear samples and vocals in Japanese and English spoken by my friends and I:
Cherie - the beginning Japanese vocals
Phil - the higher-pitched Orange Vocoded Japanese voice and the boing-kachesh-aaahh beatbox
Sara - the "that's it" sample
Me - the lower-pitched AKAI DCVocoded Japanese voice
The "we're musicians" sample was taken from my collection of samples
I was going to put a couple breaks in the song where the chord progression and instruments would totally change, but SAL fried off the wall before I was able to get at it. I have another great unreleased track, but it's burned to a CD that's in my car, so I'll rip and upload it later. Enjoy!
