Hi! I wouldn't really call myself a DJ; I'm more an enthusiast, and would really love to try making some of my own remixes... does anyone know of any PC software that isn't horribly expensive/difficult to learn? Thanks!

This belongs in music talk. :P

Anyway, to do a remix you basicly load the midifile and/or any wav samples into your production software.

If you are on a budget you might want to check out Reason 2.5. You could also check out FL Studio, which is only around $150. Eventually to be able to acheive a 'pro' sound in FL you will need to invest in some good VSTi synths [check out www.nativeinstruments.com, www.rgcaudio.com, www.spectrasonics.net, and www.kvr-vst.com].

If money isn't an issue then I would definitly get Cubase SX 2.0 and some good VSTi's. This definitly won't be the easiest to learn, but it will be the most powerful and the best in terms of sound quality.

Also, if you start out in Reason or FL, you can buy Cubase SX and use Reason and/or FL 'inside' Cubase, which can be very powerful.

    Good luck,
    Chris
