They are really nice for the price! :)
You can push the volume until your ears bleed, but most important of all is that they have a crystalclear sound. You hear EVERYTHING and make mastering and EQ:ing so much easier.

I compared them to some m-audio monitors for the same price but choosed they Tannoy Monitors 'cause i thought it had a better "mid-edge". The m-audio where more "bassy/bouncy" but not bad.

And I know that Labworks and Thrillseekers are using them so they can't be a really bad choise.

Well have in mind that monitors are supposed to give the EXACT same sound as it recieves from the mixer/computer... You don't usually choose a pair of monitors because they sound nicer...

That's what my Hafler monitors are good at. Although the price tag makes you cry ($4.500-$5.000 for my monitors+sub) they are really worth the money.. they produce exact sound. So if you get a mix to sound good on them, it surely sounds good on other speakers :)

Oh, I forgot I was here to read about other people introducing themselves, not to bitch about my monitors

Good monitors give's you a better soundimage since it focused on that.
To get a clear sound and to "hear all the sounds" is easier with monitors than some regular computer speakers.

And as you say, you want them to sound exactly as the sequenser "sounds"...

    Hey all,

My name's Max Elbert Meier, III, or MiGhTy-MaX as I am/used to be known. I only have one track that I salvaged, and I no longer have a music setup, so I'm on the down-low for a while.

Just so everyone knows, I'm disabled, so if my music sounds a bit off... just tell me and I'll think about it, or if you have a real problem, stuff it... I just want to give the best effort I can to all the people out there.

    Hey guys! :D

My name is Christopher Farber and I was born on the 8th of January in 1988. I'm 15 and a sophmore in highschool.

    Thinks I like:
hott girls, movies, good music [all kinds], computers, sportscars [BMW, Porsche, and Lamborghini!], AMD, good food, science & astronomy, hanging out with friends, sleeping in geometry, and this smiley: :cheesburger:

    Thinks I dislike:
microsoft, taxes!, bad sound systems, my brother, unhappy/annoying people, people with fast cars, wannabes, and LIGHT POLLUTION/SOUND POLLUTION.

I've always had a very strong attraction to music, although I didn't realize it until halfway through 8th grade! Thankfully I wandered upon trance one day [aura - the source of trance] and I haven't looked back since. I also have equally strong attraction to all forms of art, especially digital media and graphic design.

I've also been producing since June of 2002 when I bought Fruityloops with some of my graduation money.

    My Studio:

Computer: [custom built by me ;)]
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2100+ [OC 2.13GHz]
    RAM: 512MB Corsair XMS DDR333
    Motherboard: Asus A7V8X
    Graphics: Asus Geforce4 MX440 64MB
    Sound: M-Audio Audiophile2496
HD: Western Digital 20GB [soon to be a serial ATA seagate barracuda 7200.7 120GB drive]
Monitor: too sad to put here.... [soon to be two NEC 17" flat screen CRT's]

    Software:
    Reason 2.5
    FL Studio 4
    Several freeware plugins
    Freeware audio editors
Samples from various sources [and some I made myself]

    MIDI:
    Evolution MK225C USB keyboard/controller

    Monitoring:
Behringer Truth B2031 Active two way monitors :D

alright, i guess i should do this again :P (btw, i hate this smiley! )
my name is mac, i'm in the us army.... i was a tank driver & gunner (the whole m1 series...i'm so proud...my grandfather was a tanker in ww2 & uncle a tanker in vietnam...family tradition B) ) now i'm a blackhawk helicopter mechanic going on my 9th year in the army...

t[]c turned me onto trance when i discovered them by accident on mp3.com...i hope to be somewhere near as good as they are someday...

my musical background is in industrial groups like early nine inch nails, ministry, & skinny puppy & punk rock ....i've played in groups you've never heard of like "your mom's dildo" & "jesus christ action-figures".

i sold everything when i came back into the army, so my personal studio consists of a korg triton studio ( with cd-rw option ) and a worthless computer & speakers.... btw dave, i use my jvc reciever (9010) with optical i/o along with my synth :) .

i love being on this board, because t[]c treats everyona as equals & doesn't get the "god complex"...& because other users, are so helpful & honest....(dave mcgowan....hint hint)

so if anyone here ever comes to korea, e-mail me & we'll have a beer on me [image]

My name is John, I live in Florida (USA) and I'm probably the oldest coot on this forum. I'm 50, that's right, the big five-oh! And the strange thing is I have been waiting for techno/trance music all my life but just didn't know it. I grew up on Rock'n'Roll and still listen to it but the beat was never fast enough for me generally. When I heard my first techno song I went ballistic! Now I have more techno/trance music than I can listen to right now! I don't know much about music making I just know what I like and I like a lot of the stuff the guys here put out. So keep making music guys, I'll keep listening! :music: ;)

Well my parents dont care for it too much. Especially my mom... the boom boom gets to her after a while ;)

Its not my dad's top choice either but he likes some of it. The more melodic stuff... but its not what he chooses to listen to.

They've just gotten used to it. ^_^

    Greets!

This marks my first post here, but I am by no means new to T[]C. My name is Mike and I've been listening to and have been in love with the music of Trance[]Control for about 2 1/2 - 3 years now (I think it was Atomic Dance Explosion that got me hooked). Yeah I know I'm a lazy git for just now posting here, but my whole life can be summed up by the saying, "Better late than never" :P
I'm 28 and work at the Beaufort County library as a Circulation Librarian. I've a love for dark, lush, mysterious music of many kinds, but have always been in love with electronica, and trance in particular. I often borrow a term I first heard on an Ambient episode of Music From The Hearts of Space "Beep Generation" to describe my tastes in music.
I'm currently rather active on the Exodus Evanescence Board Evanescence vies with T[]C as my favorite music. I often try to "convert" friends, family members, girl friends, anyone who will listen to both groups (and have been somewhat successful :D )

Other than a love of music I'm rather interested in aviation, Linguistics (writing systems in particular), Sci-Fi, History, and dreaming up strange fition ideas.
  26. David McGowan9 Oct 2003, 02:01
Glad to have you aboard Darthjiggler... ( i wont mention what movies this name conjures up)

And i think for most of the older t[]c fans atomic dance explosion was the one that hooked us all.

If you have any questions let us know!

    David

Actually the first track from t[]c that got me hooked was Deep Vibrations and then on to Dream of Trance... Atomic Dance Explosion was great don't get me wrong. Those are just what got me hooked to t[]c. B)

which brings up a interesting question, do any of your older friends give you a hard time becase you listen to trance? or do any of them like it to ?

My lovely wife can only listen to it for a very short time. One of my co-workers (a woman) hates it and asks me to turn it down (or off) when I play it at work. Another co-worker likes some techno (mostly radio edit stuff) but not trance. I'm sure that my older brother and his wife would hate it. As far as I know I am the only one my age around here that likes trance. But I'm an exceptional person (no, really I am) and I have always tried to keep up with the times. While set in my ways in many respects I am progressive in others. :woot: :music:

Thats really cool man. Its very odd to find people who grew up in older generations, liking new music and styles. But i think its awesome that you do.
