OK Guys, I already have some gear, including some nice monitors. But what I want to do is get my room accoustics up to a professional level. So far I have been looking at getting studio foam and stuff, but what would you guys recommend as far as my monitors: isolation pads or stands, and what brand etc. [I know I talked to you, Kristian, about this in the chat during the mix set Ben did, but I forgot what you said :P]. And besides studio foam and whatever for my monitors, anything else I should look into? I know one problem area might be my closet which takes a rectangular area out of the one corner of my room and has two sliding doors, so any advice on that would be great too.

    Thanks guys,
    Chris

I'm actuly in the process of building a 1 man mini studio. I would send pictures but noone would be able to understand the blah blah of it sence there's crossed out and moved stuff all over it. Anyways, it looks a little bit like this.

Except it's a lot smaller. Sence.... I don't got near the stuff those dudes got..... cause it's all on my computer. But that's okay, cause it's gotta fit in my room.

    aight

    Rawk on.

well, as for stands to your monitors, I would recommend "Leca blocks". solid, quite heavy blocks that consists of rock. If you spray paint them black, they look quite cool too. They are amazing for sound. They absorb as much sound as the most professional stands.
As for foams, the best thing to do would be to cover your whole room with 'em... but that would be expensive, and it wouldn't look good. Just find out where in your room the sound is reflecting, then add some foam there.
One other thing that is important to remember is the placement of yur monitors. The two monitors and your head should make a triangle with equal sides, so there are equal lengths between the Left and Right monitors as there is from one monitor to your head.
