New short song...

   Well guys, I've had a little free time this week so I started working on a quick song just to get the hang of producing again. I finished it last night, because I started it from scratch since I wasn't satisfied. I only used Novation Nova factory sounds and some 909 samples. I made it really quick so it might sound a little unrefined. I gave it a little Caribbean touch to the secondary riff to vary...I think I'll start a new genre: Caribbean Trance :P

   Not that bad for a short little song... of course the production could be better but otherwise I liked it except for this one note...

   What do you mean? :) Might be only the Nova parts because the drums I made them comparing the sound to an ATB song (not Andre the producer, ATB the trance compilation CD), and it sounds exactly identical and looks identical in the waveform :)
   
   How can I improve it?

   Nice sound in the beginning. I think most sounds come in too sudden, you can put them under a high pass filter and then slowly open up the filter for example.
   
   A bit too short to give a full review but a nice beginning of a song!

   The mixdown [did you do one? I'm too tired to listen that carefully right now] is kind of.. moderate. It sounds lo-fi to me. I guess telling you this now doesn't mean much, selling your gear and all.
   
   Anyway, hope you find more time in the future because you had some talent ;).
