    NOVEMBER132003:

MISSION 2002 Release #22: SMALL DROPS OF ACID

STYLE: Acid Trance / Hard Trance
    DURATION: 7:34
    PRODUCED BY: WennE
    STATUS: ONLINE - http://www.mp3.com/tc

It's time again! WennE has been to the studio to play with our new friend 'Bass Line' from Audiorealism... The outcome is what you get by putting a madman in a room with a TB-303, some hard drumsamples and a distortion effect...
Excpect some heavy beats and progressive synth/acid lines in this one.
You figure out the rest

    Enjoy

    Best,

    Andreas & Alex

Hey! :) Just heard it, and I love it!
Way cool beat :D Keep up the great work. B)

Hmmmm, can we say "Hyperacusis II"? :P Yeah, this song's "main lead" reminded me of Hyperacusis's. There was something about the sound of the synth used for the main lead that I wasn't totally blown away with. *shrug*

Well I have to say that I really like the song! When you said hard trance, I now think of hard trance in relation to Imported Nightmare, but you did say it was acid trance too, and the song was still tight, and still HARD compared to your more melodic songs. It makes me want to bounce! *bounce bounce*

OMG, when I heard that drum thing that sounds "distant" and starts for the first time at 2:12, I was so hoping that you'd develop it more loudly or something as a main drum rhythm. It was an AWESOME rhythm!

Great job, WennE! If we could grade out of 10 stars, it'd be a 9, but out of 5 stars, I'd give it a 4.

I also downloaded the regular version of Unicorn R.I.P. 'Tis fabulous! I personally like it better than the Extended one. The ending is BOMB! Both songs are great, though.

Oh, I love the "bouncy" sound too! (I can never describe these things and give them justice also.) But it reminds me of a "bouncing ball" or something. I especially love it when the main lead is over and the sound comes back in as the lead sound. B) This song is awesome.

Nice beat. Wicked 303s. Other than that it didn't really grab me for some reason. Nothing really groundbreaking in this track. I give it a 4 star.
  13. AlexW14 Nov 2003, 13:08
I really miss a real atmosphere in this track...
It feel like this track is just glued together, a bit lazy made... like yeah let's make a 303 and then add a beat to it, and to show that it atleast has something in it we'll make a little melodi in the end...
Don't wanna be rude and all but...

A 303 line is a very strong instrument, and it can make a dancefloor burn, but to get the most out of it you need to have a awesome beat.

And I thing that kick is gettin' very over-used... and in my ears it's boring, sounds like a kangaroo on LSD with that bassline...

Try to lay more time on the track's in the future, and try to be more creative :)

This get's 3/5 from me... Saved by the 303 line ;)

This is just my honest opinon...

    alle, can you count?

You have an extended version of "Unicorn R.I.P." and a regular version both numbered 21. You then number "Small Drops Of Acid" as number 22. By my counting system "Small Drops Of Acid" is number 23. Or do you not intend on including both "Unicorn R.I.P." versions on the CD? I sure hope that you DO include both versions on the CD! :music:
  15. Alle15 Nov 2003, 22:46
Yes, last time I checked I was quite capable of counting :)

The reason - UNICORN R.I.P and UNICORN R.I.P [Extended] are the same track made in two diffrent versions... that's all :) I'll probably just have one of them on the M2002 Vol.3 CD.

    Best,

    Alex

:( Please include both! Maybe have the extended version as a bonus track. :)
To me if a song has been changed in any fashion it's a new, different song because it has a different overall sound and feel.

I like going to the movies. A few times in the past I have enjoyed the music from the movie so much that I have bought the CD. I have been disappointed over the years a few times because the one song I enjoyed the most from the movie had not been included on the CD. Instead a slightly different version had been included. To me it's just NOT the same thing! The Beatles did something similar with some of their music. A song would come out on a 45 but a slightly different version appeared on the album. I despised this action, as I was a big Beatles fan.

I have sometimes been delightfully surprised when I have discovered that an artist has included an extended or different version of one of the songs on the CD as a bonus track.

If I were a music artist I would not release to the public any song that I would not include on a CD. I might purposefully save some of the alternate versions to be included on their own CD but I would want to eventually include all the music I made public on a CD.

I guess all of this is just an appeal for you to include both songs on a CD. If not on the 3rd release then maybe on the 4th.

That is so true. I was pissed myself the other day, I was sitting in the hospital and had my laptop with me. I started a pretty dark track myself.

If that's the kind of music that you produce when you are pissed then let me know what pisses you off and I'll try and accommodate you whenever I can. Gotta keep you making good music. No, no don’t thank me, I’m just trying to help. :D :music:
