Lithius25 Sept 2003, 06:48 Here's a wicked track I'm working on! I don't have a name for it yet, but I call it "Project Break". It sounds very spiffy when I call it a project. And break is the filename of the project since it has no name. Project Break has this very grunge/experimental/hardcore mixture to it, you'll like it, check it out. It's like one of those songs you'd hear on a rock radio station when the song really isn't rock. Also, everything isn't all that mastered yet, but it dounds decent so far!

Also, if you're able to, pop up your wave editor and take a look at this file. Notice that at the intense spot the wave looks as if it were distorted but it isn't? That's no mistake. And that's not a compressor either! That's a Fruity Soft Clipper. That plugin just ROCKS! What it does is cut the peaks to 0 decibels, without distortion, for a crystal clean mastering without that compressed sound. Very trick. Try it if you have it. It came with my version of FL Producer.Dj-M25 Sept 2003, 21:26 Great sound. I like the drum beat alot! Although Im not into rock that much.
Keep it up!

the vocal sample is hard to decipher although you have a habbit of doing that and i think its by design. its interesting good atmosphere, the transition when the vocals stop is pretty abrupt, and the percusion could be a little bit stronger i think. This is definately a goth type song i could hear it being played in a Goth club easily. It is an interesting experiment... would need some work, but like i said i bet theyd play it in a decent goth club.
DavidBALLISTIC SOLUTION26 Sept 2003, 06:11 lith, we need to do a skinny puppy-esque project... i know i can play that type of music...trance is kicking my ass...i guess my punk rock & industrial upbringing has made me to angry <_< what ever happened to that other track you & your friend did...with him playing guitar?
p.s. check out the gary numan ( yes the guy from the 80's that sang "cars"...bear with me! ) track "one perfect lie" off of his PURE album...you can easily find it on kazaa, i wouldn't mind doing something like that, hell, you got the voice for it (all i can do is sound like al jourgensen of ministry :D )OneLoneMan26 Sept 2003, 06:47 Good start... when do we get the rest?TranceSynthVania26 Sept 2003, 16:37 Listening now...
What I would do with the first synth line to get rid of all the distortion, and use some hard phaser or flanger, so make it a badass phat synth line. And maybe use some deep sub bass as the bass instead.
The vocoded DnB beat sounds nice.... turn up the vocals a bit, but don't overdo it. Try get some real el-guitars play here instead of the fake ones I hear. You could use Virtual Guitarist from Steinberg ( a VSTi )
otherwise sounds very good!Lithius27 Sept 2003, 21:51 Thanks for all you guys' comments! That guitar-like synth was meant to be a "gear grinding" synth rather than actually sounding like a guitar. The vocals were meant to just be an ambient sound in the background, but I could clar them up. The hard-to-decipher-ness was intentional. But if you want to know what they say ...
using up the life force
abusing all the power
burning up the future
giving it a ransom
stealing all the freedom
lurking in the shadows
everyone will know it
they're coming to destroy you
I've been trying to get some bass into the track, but it just doesn't really fit to the rest of the song. I'll figure something out though ...Tim29 Sept 2003, 20:58 Hey,
I'm not really into rock, but those riffs sounds pretty cool and the atmospheric effects are also good!
TimMel David7 Oct 2003, 09:56 Sounds like it is shaping up to be quite an interesting track. I like when the guitars comes in with the drums. Headbanging material most definitely. Good work! Only gripes I have with it is the distortion. It ain't that pleasant to the ears.
Hey look what it sounds like sped up a bit...MiGhTy-MaX14 Oct 2003, 01:12 Better than anything I've done...
