Anybody here know about Jeskola Buzz? It's an old skool windows-based tracker! It's completely free at I think www.buzzmachines.com . So I've been playing around with that tracker and it's pretty neat. The playlist is unique, the interface is unique, the sequencer's unique ... it's really different. It's kinda hard to use, but it's still cool. Check it out.

I tried that a few years back, couldn't really get into it. I prefered the setup of Fruity Loops and then new Reason.

Yeah. I use it now and then. It's one of the best but yet one of the hardest. I could show ya some stuff sometime if you want. I havn't produced any songs with it though.

Yes. I totally agree with you. I tried also but with no very good results, There's quite high learning curve at the start and you'll get frustrated of its difficult use <_<

I never liked buzz. Psycle was better, but lacked a larger user base, and thus had less plugins and stuff.

Some buzz plugins were kinda cool though, and if you like them enough I think fruity has an adaptor right?

I tried it a while back. I didn't like that much though ;)

:P I've been Buzzing now for a little over a year. Ha. You people are correct about the steep learning curve but where else can you get so much for nothing, nada, zilch. In the proper hands it can produce the cleanest sounds of ALL the synth studios. It is also the most versitile and is constantly growing thanks to a semi-open source code that allows unlimited machine, effect, and utility developement. If you haven't tried it yet, do so and stick to it. My first CD is scheduled to be out on MP3.com in Jan. 04. Keep on keeping on.

Have you ever tried a more professional interface like Reason or Cubase? I would never dream of going back to a tracker, especially buzz. The interface is too restricting, I can never get my ideas out right. And it takes forever.

All I'm saying is even though buzz may make a great starting place, it's much easier to get a good sound and be productive with better software.

 I believe you are all sort of right. Buzz is harder than most multitracking programs like logic or Sonar, but what I don't think most people realize is that every program, every sample, every instrument, etc. is a tool. No one says you have to create a whole song with buzz. Why not make a loop in buzz, Process it in Sound Forge, slice it up in recycle, and import the slices into kontakt??? Tools can be used in any way you would like to use them. I own and use: Logic, Sonar, Reason, Re-Birth, Recycle, FM7, crystal, Pro-53, PPg wave, Sound Forge, Buzz, Roland Jp 8080, a few sample cd's and that is just off the top of my head. My point is, I use them all. Honestly, the sounds I have been getting out of buzz lately are just wild! Anyways, I suggest that everyone should utilize the right tool for what you are trying to accomplish. You want Weird noises with endless routings and effects, go with buzz or reaktor.
