    Hey!

Just want to say that my new track "Inside Your Mind" is released on my mp3.com page.

Any comments are welcome as usual.
Hope you like the track :)

Hey Kris, I LOVED the beginning, when the mellow melody starts playing and then the rhythm stops and the melody keeps playing...it really touched me. The main melody (lead) is nice with a very commercial sound to it, but it didn't move me too much. The 303 line is very different and spices things up...NICE. The real complaint is that it's too short, f00...when I thought it started developing into something more complex...it ended, hehe...I want more, especially from the mellow melody, f00! :D

I liked this song! It's the second I've heard since Addicted to Trance, and even though I didn't like it AS MUCH, at least it felt like I was listening to something new! I wasn't totally in love with the synth of the main lead, but I loved the melody of the main lead; especially how it sounded like it "zips up" to the next note (I don't know how else to explain it :P ) But yeah, fun song! 9/10!

At 1:39, is that your voice, vocoded? If it is, what do you use to vocode your voice? I've always wanted a program that could do voice effects...

    Hey guys!

Thanks for all the nice feedback!!

    OOBE:
When you hear a really nice track that's short, don't you just feel like playing it over and over again ? ;)

    DJ Bluey:

The "zip up" thing is probably the pitch bending if I got your point..

And yes, it's my voice that's vocoded. I did it with my Novation NOVA, unfortunately, that is hardware, but I think there are a few good software vocoders around, but I don't use any so if you ask about it on the off topic forum, maybe some guys can help you out.

I was going to say the same thing. A variety of lengths is always good in my book.

And yep, I did mean the pitch bend thing; I almost worded it that way too!

I had another question. The rhythms of your main leads—do you create those from scratch? Or do you use something that automatically programs them? Because that's something I love about your tracks; the originality of your main lead rhythms! I wish I could make music like you! And the fact that you're the same age as me is a little intimidating! <_< Just kidding... :D

    Hey Kristian...

This track is banging... 100% TSV style... the very "cowboy:ish" 303 is off the hook, really tight ;)

    Keep then comming bro!

Very nice job, a very active song, and definately has your style to it. My only complaint really is the lead synth sequencing is very very similar to your last track addicted to trance. other than that its nice man.

    David

I'm with you David, it's kinda similar to Addicted to Trance. Hey Kris, I've listened to it all day long, hehe, so there you go! :P

Yeah man, that vocoder on the Nova is nice as hell. I plugged the master out to the input 1 and got some crazy effects :D
  9. OneLoneMan19 Oct 2003, 02:02
All I can say about it TSV is... I LIKE IT! :music:
  10. TranceSynthVania19 Oct 2003, 10:54
Wow! I never expected such great feedback as I got here ! :D

Thanks guys! I'm really glad you liked it!

    DJ Bluey:
Yes, I create my melodies from scratch, the trick is really just to find a catchy melody and work out from there, and not create some beats and bass and start from there.

    OOBE:
Yeah, try to make a cool beat, plug the output to the nova vocoder, then mix that with some crazy sound, and you can come up with some wild stuff ;)
I mean, I bought that NOVA from Alle for 4000 NOK or something... (around $550+) and I tell you that's a really good deal! I guess they needed the money.. hehe oops, sorry Alle

    Alex W:
I'm really glad you liked it. You always have a way to diss my songs, so now I guess I'm on the right track, eh? ;)
Well, we gotta finish our "legendary" track now soon.. Can't wait to get it out!

    David:
Thank you! The only big difference with Addicted to Trance and Inside Your Mind is that Addicted to Trance was made with 100% software, but on Inside your Mind is mostly hardware. I will try to be a little more creative when making my lead melodies in future tracks.

    OneLoneMan:
    B)

And thank you all for checking it out!
  11. OOBE19 Oct 2003, 15:55
Yeah man, $550 is a great price. I lucked out and got mine on eBay for $338 plus $20 shipping...and it's almost brand new :P

Hey, for some reason, I could tell that Inside Your Mind was made with hardware. I don't know exactly what gave it away, but there's some dimension that software doesn't have...like The Will...awesome, professional song but you can tell it's not harware-borne...maybe you know exactly what it is...I can't explain it!
  12. TranceSynthVania19 Oct 2003, 22:54
I got your point.. there's something about it.... although all t[]c's tracks are made with software, think about that
  13. OOBE19 Oct 2003, 23:07
They sound badass (t[]c songs) but they sound like they were made with software...all I'm saying is that music made with software synths and effects has a distinctive unique sound...like Cubase SX or Logic running Muon synths, Native Instruments synths and plugins, TC Electronics or Waves effects plugins, or even just using Reason...versus music made with, let's say, Cubase SX or Logic sequencing a Novation Nova, a Roland JP-8000, a Korg Prophecy, AKAI sampler,etc...they sound unique...
  14. David McGowan20 Oct 2003, 03:02
Well if i use sample's from a certain synth , and sequence it in any sequencer, it should sound the same as playing the real instrument recorded... so i dunno...

    David
  15. Trancefuzion20 Oct 2003, 04:47
OK my turn. Some nice touch-ups since the last time I heard this but it's been killer since the beginning.

Great 303s and effects. I really like that broken up pad thing.

Can't wait to throw this one into the DJ set. It's gonna own. Keep up the good work bro! B)
  16. Lithius20 Oct 2003, 10:25
hooollyyy mooollyyy this track rules!! The progression is very impressive! The drums are good! The gentle transistion between the beginning synths was very smooth! Pitch bends rock! Drumrolls are wicked!

I do have a suggestion though ... try to add a little more "umph" to the track and it will completely rock. Something to fill the blank spots, like a floaty pad or something in the very background. yaaaaaaay
  17. TranceSynthVania20 Oct 2003, 10:50
    thank you for your feedback!

    About the software/hardware thing:
I think that sampling has meant a lot to software. The best softsynths (IMO) are based on sampling (such as the Spectrasonics synths). Of course you have some badass synths as Absynth and such... I don't think we should start discussing this really..... it may never end
  18. Guest20 Oct 2003, 17:18
Sampling rocks. A lot of the time I'll just screw around in FL until I make some weird tone, then I export it to wav and make a "soundfont" out of it. The only downside to using samples is that the sound isn't that tweakable ... otherwise, if you find an awesome sample to work from, you're pretty well off ^_^
  19. Lithius20 Oct 2003, 17:19
    oops ... that's me ...
  20. David McGowan20 Oct 2003, 18:10
Well in my post i was talking about samples from hardware synths, and they are a little less tweakable true, but you can also route them through to any fx you want so..

    David
  21. Lithius22 Oct 2003, 09:49
Oh, sampling hardware synths? That totally rocks, yeah!

Dang I can still rock out to this track, excellent job!!
  22. Dj-M22 Oct 2003, 11:04
Great Song!!! I liked the voice effects! Keeo it up! :D

Nice work! I like the intro [the vibrato pad that comes in around 1:00 kind of reminds me of those classic aura pads... I've always loved that sound]. The lead is nice, I like it a lot but it does remind me of Addicted to Trance a little too much :P. Good job on the pitchbends too. Overall it's very nice but it could be a little bit longer. It's like 11:30 at night and every1 in my house is asleep [or should be... hehe] so I cant comment on production for obvious reasons ;)

BTW, the one lead synth from Addicted to Trance really sound like of the one Pro-53 preset.. I think it's called hammer lead? :P
  25. TranceSynthVania24 Oct 2003, 10:32
    Hey!
    Thanks for your feedback!
Actuallty, the synths used for *leads* only on Addicted To Trance were the Steinberg a1 and the Superwave 8000.
    I don't have the Pro-53, I had Pro52, but I didn't like it that much.

Anyways, thanks for checking it out!
  26. Digital Beat25 Oct 2003, 00:04
nice track, melodic and great mixing, beautiful sounds, still quite typical trance track but this is really good produced track, I like it. Around 2 min it gets more groovy and after 2:30 there's some nice 303 style too :music:
  27. TranceSynthVania25 Oct 2003, 11:51
    Thanks Digital Beat!

Great track TSV, would you mind if I threw this into one of my weekly sets at the club I spin at? I think the crowd will really be moved by this track. I am always looking for new music to play, I think I just found a new artist to put in my sets. With your permission of course.
  29. TranceSynthVania1 Nov 2003, 19:29
    sure DJ Daed!

You have my permission to spin any track you want from my mp3.com page! Thank you! Oh, please hit me back and tell me how the reaction is on the floor, will ya ? ;)

    again, thanks!
  30. TranceSynthVania1 Nov 2003, 19:33
Oh, by the way, hit me up on msn (▓ e-mail address hidden) or ICQ (▓ ICQ number hidden) if you want to have the wav file for the track. Since the sounds in this track has such a wide frequency range, the mp3 encoding kind'a destroyed it a little, especially on the high ride cymbals and the deep bass.
  31. DjDaed1 Nov 2003, 22:16
It still sounds great. I am adding you to my ICQ list as we speak. Thank you for the permission.
